More about The Web CMS Report 2009

Our customers say

"The reviews of various CMS packages in the Web CMS report is well-structured, allowing readers with different roles to easily examine each product in detail and quickly make comparisons between products. But even better than the excellent product reviews is the clearly-written, comprehensive, and non-biased explanations of the Web CMS landscape. In addition to making it easier to more fully-appreciate the massive amounts of product information, it also provides readers with great guidance that will assist them with any CMS selection and implementation.

We release The Web CMS Report 2009

09-Oct-2008

The Web CMS Report 2009 is bigger, better, and dare I say, badder than the fourteen previous editions.

Bigger, because we began coverage of two new WCM platforms: DotNetNuke and Telerik Sitefinity, both .NET-based alternatives to SharePoint for web publishing. Today's press release points out that many Web CMS vendors are trying to co-exist with Redmond and differentiate on SharePoint connectivity, with mixed results. But the second story here is the growth and expansion of other .NET-based WCM packages.

Better, because we continue to focus on key vendor intangibles, as well as assess the extent of genuine adoption of newfangled features and options (hint: generally slow, as you might expect).

Badder, because my colleagues Jarrod, Kas, and Adriaan took a skeptical eye towards all these tools -- as you should too, if you're thinking about spending money on one.
