Chill wind continues to blow for FAST

A few days ago, I chronicled the confusing struggle among shareholders in Opticom, a company with a hefty chunk of FAST Search. The struggle continues. FAST Search president John Lervik wants to retain control of his fast-growing company. Unnamed outsiders, UK shareholders, and a handful of Norwegian investors may have other plans. At yesterday's shareholders meeting, the contentious factions agreed only to meet again, probably on December 20th. For customers with FAST Search licenses, no changes are likely in the short term. For organizations thinking about taking on a FAST Search solution, the turmoil may slow down dealmaking on the other side of the table. Enterprise search continues to be a headline-generating business...
