The Web CMS Report 2008 looks at... Oracle Universal Content Management

"However, it's important to understand that Oracle didn't buy Stellent so that it could duke it out with pure-play WCM vendors. Oracle wants to sell you a full-blown, high-end ECM solution (and have a nice long chat with you about Fusion Middleware). Whereas previously, Stellent was happy to go head-to-head with Interwoven and Vignette on straightforward WCM deals, now the company is aggressively promoting itself as ECM infrastructure. "

Stellent gets certified for SAP Portal

28-Jan-2006

In recent news from Germany (auf deutsch), the local Stellent office announced that an integration with NetWeaver Portal, developed by an integrator partner, has been certified by SAP. The integration is based on "iViews" (a portlet in SAP lingo), enabling access to various Stellent services via the portal, including check-in/-out, versioning, workflow, and search. SAP is one of the few enterprise vendors to remain quiet about its own web CMS capabilities. SAP integration is also available in Documentum, Interwoven, Open Text and Synkron, among others. Other portal vendors like BEA and IBM are more or less abandoning the partner route and increasingly telling customers that they don't need to invest in a 3rd-party Web CMS products for their requirements. Buyers should remain skeptical about the Web CMS capabilities of major portal vendors.
